Jiangdong Area of Hangzhou Economic and Technology Development Area (HEDA)

Geographic position:
Jiangdong Area of Hangzhou Economic and Technology Development Area (HEDA) is located in Xinwan Town, Xiaoshan District, covering planning area of 40 square kilometers. It faces Hangzhou Xiaoshan Linjiang Industrial Zone (i.e., Linjiang New City under planning) in the southeast, with 9 kilometers away from Jiangdong Wharf under planning; it has the distance of 10 kilometers to Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (i.e., Airport New City under planning) in the southwest; it adjoins Jiangdong Industrial Park (i.e., Jiangdong New City under planning) in the west, and stands opposite to HEDA (i.e., Xiasha New City) across the river; and it borders the riverside of Qiantang River in the north. It stretches the distance of 150 kilometers to Shanghai (China��s economic center) and 110 kilometers to Ningbo (the largest port in China) in the northeast and southeast directions, respectively. So Jiangdong Area of HEDA can take advantage of resources in these two major ports with equidistance.

Planned construction range:
It shall consist of Qianjiang Tunnel Approach Slip-road under planning and construction to the east, Qianjiang No.9 Bridge Approach Slip-road to the north, south bank line of Qiantang River to the south, and the east line shall be limited by a maximum area of 40 square kilometers.

Functional positioning:
synergy area of industrial upgrading; absorption area of international advanced production factors; pilot area of enhancing the capability of independent innovation; and demonstration area of intensive economic development. Jiangdong Area of HEDA shall focus on the development of advanced manufacturing industry, high-tech industry, as well as supportive modern service industry and public service industry.
