Advantages of Jiangdong Section at the municipal level: Jiangdong Section at the municipal level boasts the unique development advantages, which is an ideal place for the purpose of building ecologically-oriented, environmentally-friendly and high-tech industrial zone.

Introduction to Development Space:
During 2007-2010, infrastructure construction and project investment attraction shall be basically completed in kick-off section (5.35 square kilometers), and automobile industry corridor (7.5 square kilometers) shall begin to take shape.

Introduction to Location Conditions:
Advantages of location conditions: Jiangdong Section at the municipal level is located in the heart of Circum-Hangzhou Bay Industrial Belt, which stands adjacent to Shaoxing Binhai Industrial Zone in the southeast and borders upon HEDA in the west. So it is favorably endowed with advantageous geographical location.

Introduction to Infrastructure Advantages:
Completely-established infrastructure: Water supply: A regional water plant (capacity: 1 million cubic meters/day) shall be established on southwest side at the periphery of this section according to the planning; Sewage: Xiaodong Sewage Treatment Plant shall put into service in the near term, and Jiangdong Sewage Treatment Plant shall put into service in the long term according to the planning; Power supply: A 500KV transformer substation and three 220KV substations shall be set up according to the planning.

Introduction to natural environment advantages:
Natural advantages: Jiangdong Section at the municipal level is located at the south bank of Qiantang River and stands close to estuary of Hangzhou Bay. With bank line extending for over 20 kilometers, this region sees crisscrossing rivers. The geological conditions of soil are basically identical, which is conducive to ecological and environmental protection. Such excellent natural environmental conditions endow Jiangdong Section at the municipal level with stronger environmental self-purification capacity. Precisely thanks to these development advantages, regional overall superiority and overall competitiveness of Jiangdong Section at the municipal level have been continuously improved.

Introduction to Transportation Advantages :
Transportation advantages: Qianjiang Tunnel (under planning) stands in the west of Jiangdong Section, and Extension Line of Qianjiang No.9 Bridge (under construction) stands in the south. Jiangdong Section has only 10-km distance from beltway and Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway. It is 9 kilometers away from Jiangdong Wharf under planning in the southeast, and it is adjacent to Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport in the southwest. Qianjiang Tunnel will be connected with Zhapu Port which will be co-invested and jointly constructed by Hangzhou and Jiaxing. Phase I Project has seen a built 35,000-ton (concurrently available for 50,000-ton) offshore bulk cargo beach berth, with designed annual cargo handling capacity of 1,470,000 tons. The proposed Phase II Project is located in Dushan Sub-port of Jiaxing Port, which is a deep-water port with the longest coastline and the most potential for development in Jiaxing. The construction of three berths will be launched as planned: a 20,000-ton berth and two 35,000-ton berths (concurrently available for 50,000 tons) shall be owned by Hangzhou Counterpart. Upon the completion of the total four berths, they shall enjoy total berthing capacity of 130,000-170,000 tons and the annual cargo handling capacity of more than 5,000,000 tons.
